Another year is almost done; only felt like 3 months, tbh!

This year was full of nice surprises! But first, let's take a look at my art summary!

Decent improvement from last year! I've 100% improved on hands, composition, backgrounds and color! I also made a more polished pieces in May and December, but I can't post them yet. :(

As for the 2024 bingo card, I'm happy to say that I've cleared the board!

Some of the goals are the same, but I added a bunch of new ones to keep things fresh!

Now, for the main event! Let's recap what went down this year!

January

January started off pretty rocky emotionally, but I was able to see my work in midgetsausages' Sketch Collab and Kunishiros' Solidarity Collab! I also made a song for Pixel Day and experimented with how I draw hands!

February

In February, I got to make something for a Secret Cupid event [Secret Santa but for valentines day] and finally finished those HTF gijinkas from last year! The collab lineup for this month was Loopykins' Valentines Day Collab and RepriseAgains' Summertime in Wintertime Collab!

March

March was when I got to be part of a pilot program; it's a course that teaches you the basics of cooking! I also earned my bronze whistle which was pretty cool! Got to be a part of TechnoCookies' Adult Swim Collab, SkilledFellas' Sandwhich Collab and AnassAnimationPros' Easter Egg Collab!

April

April started off with a fake AI image prank [almost got reported for it :P], getting interviewed by Aalasteir/BottleTopBillFanclub, launching my HTF Gijinka Collab, witnessing a total solar eclipse and being part of a paid employment training program! I also got 200 followers and my first frontpage! :D

Another highlight was EmsDeLaRoZs' Earth Day Collab!

May

Mermay was in full swing and I managed to complete it! I also got a gig as a lead artist for a Roblox game called MGDWare [underrated af, play it plz] and saved up enough to kickstart HRT, but learned I was pre-diabetic in the process. There was still time to get my shit together health-wise, though.

Other than that, GlitchBuddys' KinitoPet Collab and OnceHeres' Dragon Raid Collab didn't dissapoint!

June

June was spent preparing for Artfight with a trip to Canadas' Wonderland in the mix! But on June 18th, I OFFICIALLY began HRT! Other highlights include theOves' Sonic 33rd Anniversary Collab and tydazes' NG Pride Month Collab!

July

July was spent on the Artfight battlefield, so there are no collabs to show off. BUT, I spent a night at a resort, went to a food truck festival [while winning an eating contest], got an artist shoutout and found some hidden gems during this years' Treasure Hunt!

It was also my birthday on the 30th, marking my 20th anniversary on this godforsaken planet!

August

August got a few extra days of Artfight, but I also learned how to make FNF sprites, made some Clown Week art, got an ADHD diagnosis [plus some meds] and got my silver whistle!

This busy month was tied together by stupidvampries' Music Gijinka Collab and RepriseAgains' South Park Collab 2!

September

September started off with a broken sink and a switch from needles to gell for my HRT, but it was rounded out by ComicCon and midgetsausages' The Sketch Collab 2024! Nothing else to report for September.

October

October 2nd is when I got User of the Day! I also got to try Takeover Tuesday for the first time, held a raffle on Bluesky and made a whole new portfolio! I also went trick or treating for possibly the last time; got 6 king sized candies and a Young Hellboy comic!

November

November was another rough month with a bad depression spell, but I was saving up money, went to a local holiday train event, completed this years' bingo card, won a kahoot for this years' NG Secret Santa and got to help out with this years' Tankmas ADVENTure! I wanna shoutout squidly and MrShmoods for letting me tag along! :3

I also was part of a song by Aalasteir, lol! :P

December

Finally, December wrapped up the year with some Secret Santas, my entry for KingCrowneds' Brainrot Collab [coming soon; it also got a P-bot top 5 spot!] and no longer being pre-diabetic! Yippee!

However, PicoCross got cancelled and I broke my phone, but that didn't sour the festive mood!

At the time of writing this, I've also been working on a little something! It's not related to my art, but you'll have to wait and see!

"New year, new me" as they say! ;)

Glad I kept track of the events that happened this year! So much has happened and I can't wait to see what 2025 has in store!

I'm gonna be taking a few days off socials; not gonna get political here, but the elections have got me mentally drained.

I've also been dealing with a wicked depression spell lately, so that's been adding salt to the wound.

I'll be back in a few days once I've had some time to recharge.

I know this might not mean much coming from someone like me [a Canadian], but it's worth a shot.

To my fellow Americans, you aren't alone here. Reach out to others and tell them you love them.

If you or someone you love is in a rough spot and needs urgent help, I found a few hotlines in the USA that are open 24/7. There are also some warmlines that don't get police involved if that's something that worries you.

To my fellow LGBTQ+ users, you don't need to drop everything just yet. Keep on carving your own path and shaping your destiny. The warmlines include some LGBTQ+ specific lines, but there's a few more hotlines if you need urgent support.

If you wish to pursue DIY HRT as a last resort, PLEASE be safe and *do your research beforehand to avoid any risks.

ComicCon Craze

Today is a day to remember; not because it's the 21st night of September, but it's because I went to ComicCon! I went last year, but I didn't talk about it here, so I might as well tell you about my time there! Last year, it was held at a warplane museum which was interesting, but this year, it was held at the convention center it's usually held at!

This meant a LOT of space for cool stuff at the artist alley; I'll get to that in a bit!

I saw a lot of epic cosplays and ended up getting some photos with them*, but I won't post those here for privacy reasons. But I DID get some photos of the attractions! My face is blocked out because I don't wanna reveal it yet. Also, ignore the sweat drenched Burger King crown, lol.

[* = I did ask them beforehand and they were cool with it, by the way. I got manners and shit.]

Halfway through my visit, I stopped by Jackson Square to get some lunch! I got a protein smoothie with oatmeal bites from Booster Juice, a chicken bacon ranch wrap from a place called Fit4Life and mozzarella sticks from Burger King! [I wanted the crown, lol. It looks normal in the photos.]

I got a haircut while I was there! Needed one anyways, it was worth it, honestly! I also played Super Smash Bros Ultimate at their gaming arena to pass the time and wait for their cosplay contest to kick off! I got to see more cool cosplays and the best ones got some awards like Best in Show! Twas fun seeing all the effort being put into all the cosplays and seeing them on stage!

And finally, I present to you the ComicCon 2024 haul!

Got a lot of stickers, pins, keychains, dice and some other goodies! But my all-time favourite is this crayon drawing commission I got from osophiashio on Instagram! You should have heard the audible "E!" sound I made when I got it! [Scanner was really bright, so it looks blown out.]

Overall, today was one of the best days in my life! Gotta mentally recover from interacting with humans, though. :P

War is Over

I've finished Artfight for the season! Twas a fruitful event; I was able to draw a lot of characters and challenge myself! Even got some cool art in return, but that's not the main focus of the event! In total, I was able to make a whopping...

214 attacks.

Crazy, I know. I don't know how I'm still alive after that, but that is a record breaker for the most attacks I did during the event!

Anyways, I wanna show off some of the cool defenses I got!

Food Truck Frenzy [+ review]

This weekend was full of nice treats because I went to a local food truck festival! Food trucks for local grub spots in my city gathered 'round to sell their wares; there were even some live bands playing on stage! It was a BLAST, let me tell ya!

On Saturday, my stepmom was supposed to tag along, but her kiddos were being little devils, so she had to stay behind. I decided to go either way to try out some of the spots I've been eyeing and to get a feel for the place. Glad I did because I was just in time for an eating challenge!

I was tasked with eating 4 cookie wafers without water as fast as I can and with sheer will, I managed to beat my opponents! I won some hats, a shirt, a bunch of wafers and crackers and bragging rights as seen above!

Here's a quick review of the grub I got on Saturday!

First off, the mac n' cheese poutine from Cheese Headz, a Toronto based cheeseria food truck!

The mac was creamy and cheesy, just the way I like it! The fries were nice and salty and the gravy was flavourful!

The fries did get soggy after a bit, so I couldn't finish it all. Overall, 8/10!

Next, the Caramilk cheesecake on a stick from Heirloom, another Toronto based food truck!

I'm a sucker for cheesecake and my favourite chocolate growing up was Caramilk, so this hit all the right spots!

It was really sweet, though and I felt a little sick after eating it. Not good for trying to get their shit together health wise. It was a 7/10, worth the sugar crash.

Today, my stepmom was able to make it and brought her kiddos along! I missed them so much since I haven't seen them since Halloween! We all had a blast listening to live music and had some great food as well! I got to try a bit more, so buckle up!

First up, the watermelon smoothie from a fruit stand! It was served in half a watermelon and made fresh! Very flavourful and refreshing! It was hard to keep it standing on the table, but it held up nicely! Easy 9/10!

I had some sweet and sour chicken dumplings from feasTO with it and OMG. These were the BEST thing I've had all day! The sauce was tangy, the dumplings were packed with chicken and the pineapple added a nice touch!

Solid 10/10, definitely worth trying!

Next was a twisted potato from Twisted Ketchup and they killed it here!

They had flavored ketchup, so I tried their garlic flavor and it was decent! Didn't get a lot of garlic flavor, but it tasted good! I also got some sea salt and tex mex spice on it which paired nicely!

Another 8/10 from me!

Next up, some Birria tacos from Rebozos Taqueria!

The meat was tender, had lots of flavor and the dip was the perfect addition! It had raw onions and cilantro which I didn't mind too much, but I'm pretty sure I have the soap gene which makes it taste like dish soap. The kiddos seemed to like it, too, so it gets a 9/10!

And finally, some churros stuffed with dulce de leche from a Mexican street food truck that I forgot the name of.

The churros were crispy, fluffy and flavorful, just the way I like it! Like the cheesecake, it was a bit too sweet for my liking and will likely get another sugar crash.

Still, it gets a 7/10!

It was nice to be able to treat myself! Probably need to catch up on my daily walks and the like because I've been slacking since Artfight started. Speaking of which, we're nearing halftime and I'm still going strong while kicking ass on the battlefield!

How about a sparing match?

The Good, The Great and The Scary.

As you might have known [or not], I've been wanting to medically transition for a long time now.

I've finally got the money and courage to see a virtual clinic! Had to get a few lab tests done to see if I'm fit for HRT, BUT there's some good news, great news and scary news.

The good news: It's safe for me to start HRT! :D

The scary news: My labs showed that I'm in pre-diabetic territory, but there's still time to reverse it! Just gotta make some lifestyle changes, that's all! I'll be fine, chat! [Hopefully!]

I also need to take some medication for a bit before I start HRT because of some personal medical issues. But it's safe to say my journey is going well! :D
